NEW DELHI, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Two passenger trains mowed down five people in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh, confirmed the local police on Thursday.
The incident occurred in the state's Prayagraj district on Wednesday night.
According to the police, a passenger train ran over a person and immediately came to a halt. As some passengers disembarked onto the tracks following the incident, a second passenger train approached at high speed and fatally struck at least four people.
