In attendance was Wang Qing, China's ambassador to ASEAN, Kao Kim Hourn, secretary-general of ASEAN and Raditya Jati, Indonesia's deputy minister for system and strategy at the National Disaster Management Authority and alternate chair of the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management, as well as permanent representatives of ASEAN member states.

Noting that China and ASEAN countries are linked by mountains and seas and share a common future, Wang said the two sides have achieved fruitful results in practical cooperation across multiple fields in recent years, delivering tangible benefits to their people.

He added that China has consistently provided timely emergency assistance in response to natural disasters in ASEAN countries, demonstrating strong neighborly support and offering a concrete example of building a community with a shared future for humanity.

"The project we launch today aims to share China's experience and practices, provide training for ASEAN personnel, improve the quality and efficiency of regional emergency response, and inject fresh momentum into forging an even closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future," Wang said.
