PHNOM PENH, May 3 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition on the role of journalists in Cambodia from the 1970s to the present was held on Sunday.

A total of 40 photos featuring journalists were showcased at the event at the Ministry of Information.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Information Neth Pheaktra said this exhibition reflected how journalists helped document, report, and share Cambodia's story with the public and the world.

"Each photograph displayed here is not merely an image. Each is a record of time, a witness to history, and evidence of the courage of journalists," he said.

Pheaktra said these photographs allow visitors to see the painful past, the challenges faced by journalists on the frontlines, and the continued development of journalism in Cambodia.

The minister said journalists have played an important role, serving as witnesses to history, recorders of truth, and bridges connecting Cambodia with the world.

At the event, the participants paid tribute to the national and international journalists who carried out their mission in Cambodia, especially those who lost their lives or were wounded during the years of war.
