BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted Alaska at 0442 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 16.3 km, was initially determined to be at 50.98 degrees north latitude and 179.21 degrees east longitude.
