ISLAMABAD, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar met U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Natalie A. Baker on Monday to discuss the evolving regional situation and broader Pakistan-U.S. bilateral relations, the Foreign Office said.

During the meeting, Dar highlighted Pakistan's role in facilitating communication between the United States and Iran, expressing hope that ongoing diplomatic efforts would help promote peace and stability in the region and beyond.
The foreign minister also appreciated ongoing U.S. assistance in the repatriation of Pakistani and Iranian seafarers through Singapore, said the statement.
Pakistan has in recent weeks intensified diplomatic engagement aimed at encouraging dialogue between Washington and Tehran amid heightened regional tensions.
