TEHRAN, May 17 (Xinhua) -- At least eight people were killed and 15 others injured after a bus overturned on an intercity road in Iran's southern Bushehr province on Sunday, the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) reported.

Six rescue teams were immediately sent to the scene, and the wounded were transferred to nearby medical centers, the IRCS said in a statement published on its website.
According to the semi-official Fars news agency, the bus was carrying employees of the South Pars Gas Company.
The cause of the incident is under investigation by the relevant authorities.
