SUVA, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Fiji's fuel supply remains stable, with current stock levels and scheduled shipments expected to sustain normal operations through May and June, according to Fijian authorities.
As of the beginning of this week, the country has 49.7 million liters of fuel on land, with a further 58.12 million liters expected to arrive before the end of May, which will bring total available stock to almost 108 million liters, reported Fiji Broadcasting Corporation on Wednesday.
The projected consumption for the remainder of May is 33 million liters, leaving an estimated end-of-month balance of 75 million liters, about 55 percent of total storage capacity.
The report said forecasts for June also remain within normal operating levels, supported by confirmed incoming shipments of 48 million liters and a further 11 million liters pending confirmation.
Authorities said Fiji will remain at Phase 1: Normal Status, while continuing fuel conservation awareness measures.
They said fuel pricing remains under the jurisdiction of the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission.
