Windstorm kills 3, injures 6 in Afghanistan's Kandahar

KABUL, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and six others injured as windstorms swept through Kandahar province in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday night, Mullah Abdul Salam Omari, provincial director for the National Disaster Management Authority, said Thursday.

The official added that the natural disaster, which lasted for several hours, also damaged 205 houses across the province.
A similar windstorm struck eastern Nangarhar province on Monday, killing three and injuring one.
