China-Pakistan co-produced documentary premieres in Pakistan

Islamabad (People's Daily) - To mark the 75th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic ties, the documentary Great Achievements of Workers, the second season of the Silk Road documentary series From Xi'an to Gwadar Port, premiered its first episode on May 22 on Pakistan Television (PTV). The three-episode documentary will air daily on PTV from May 22 to 24.

According to its director Bai Zhijun, the documentary took two years to prepare and film. The crew traveled tens of thousands of miles, covering major Chinese cities including Xi'an, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou and Xiamen, as well as locations across  Pakistan.

"By going deep into front-line construction sites and grassroots settings, the team documented the touching stories of nearly 300 Chinese and Pakistani builders," Bai said.

At the launch event for the documentary, held in Islamabad on Saturday, Ambreen Jan, secretary of Pakistan's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, said the official premiere marks an important cultural milestone in deepening China-Pakistan people-to-people exchanges and strengthening the two countries' ironclad friendship, especially during the celebration of the 75th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic ties.
