TEHRAN, June 8 (Xinhua) -- A loud sound of explosion was heard in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Monday, with the country's air defense systems activated, shooting down a "hostile" drone over Tehran.

The exact location and the origin of the blast were still unknown, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported, adding that air defense had been activated in some parts of Tehran.
