MUSCAT, June 9 (Xinhua) -- The Special Economic Zone at Oman's Duqm secured around 2.9 billion Omani rials (about 7.5 billion US dollars) in investments through 10 new agreements and memoranda of understanding signed Monday, Omani authorities said Tuesday.

The deals involved investors both home and abroad, and covered green hydrogen and ammonia production, power generation, electric vehicle battery materials, petrochemicals, steel manufacturing, construction technology, tourism, and industrial infrastructure, they said.

Among the deals was one for the second and third phases of Indian renewable energy company ACME Group's green hydrogen and ammonia project in Duqm at investments worth 4.2 billion dollars, they noted.

Located on Oman's southeastern coast, Duqm is a key pillar of the country's economic diversification strategy.
