The Pentagon on Friday released a third batch of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) files, commonly known as unidentified flying objects (UFOs).

The newly released collection includes 72 historical UAP-related documents gathered by the Pentagon, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency and NASA over the years, according to a press release issued by the U.S. Department of Defense.

The collection continues to be housed on a dedicated government website, war.gov/UFO, and additional files will be released on a rolling basis, according to the Pentagon.

Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said the website has received over 1.7 billion hits worldwide since its launch on May 8. The U.S. Department of Defense and its partners are actively working on the next release of UAP files.
