JERUSALEM, June 18 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli soldier was killed and seven other soldiers wounded on Wednesday evening by a Hezbollah explosive device at an Israeli military command post in the southern Lebanese village of Taybeh, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israeli media outlets said on Thursday.

The killed was identified as Master Sergeant Alexander Filin, a 29-year-old reserve armor soldier. Three of the wounded, including a colonel, are in moderate condition, while four sustained light injuries.
According to Israeli media reports, an initial IDF probe suggests the blast was a Hezbollah explosive device, but further details are under investigation.
Following the incident, the IDF said it carried out artillery shelling on Hezbollah infrastructure in the area.
Lebanon's National News Agency reported on Thursday that one person was killed and another seriously injured in an Israeli drone strike on a vehicle in southern Lebanon.
The strike hit a car near the roundabout connecting the towns of Kfar Tebnit and Arnoun in Nabatieh Governorate.
Hostilities came despite a recent U.S.-Iran agreement aimed at stopping military operations throughout the region and supporting efforts to restore stability in Lebanon.
