ISLAMABAD, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Friday rejected a claim by the Afghan authorities that Afghan forces carried out strikes against militant hideouts in two provinces of Pakistan, describing the claim false and misleading, according to the country's Information Ministry.

In a statement, the ministry said the Afghan authorities claimed to have used drones to strike alleged terrorists' camps in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southwest Balochistan provinces.

"The claims are false as usual," the ministry said, adding that camps belonging to the Islamic State of Khorasan Province and more than two dozen other militant organizations are located and operate from areas under the control of the Afghan authorities.

The ministry further said that a rudimentary drone launched by Afghanistan intruded into Pakistan's airspace near Shinko in the northwestern Khyber district and was immediately identified and neutralized by the Pakistan Air Force's air defence system.

Earlier in the day, the Afghan Ministry of Defense said the Afghan air force carried out overnight strikes against several hideouts used by the Islamic State militants in neighboring Pakistan.
