Iran's president, Masoud Peshekian, congratulated his country's World Cup team after their impressive draw against Belgium.

The leader said that because of the team, "Iran has now become the world’s top story" and added that "with everyone singing the anthem of the Islamic Republic, we can now proudly say that we are Iranian.
