TOKYO, June 29 (Xinhua) -- A local train derailed at Kyoto Station in western Japan on Monday morning but no one was injured, local media reported.

The four-car train bound for Kashiharajingu-mae Station on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line derailed at around 5:15 a.m. local time, after traveling about 120 meters from Kyoto Station, Kyodo News reported, citing the train operator Kintetsu Railway Co.

The second and third cars of the train, with roughly 30 passengers aboard, appear to have derailed at a switch near the station platform, according to a report the operator submitted to the transport ministry.

The train came to a halt at an overpass, and passengers were taken off the train and guided on foot to the station, the report said.

The cause of the derailment is under investigation, with the Japan Transport Safety Board sending two railway accident investigators to the site.
