BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 jolted South Sandwich Islands Region at 0015 GMT on Tuesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 55.49 degrees south latitude and 27.08 degrees west longitude.
