GAZA/RAMALLAH, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Four Palestinians, including a child, were killed and several others wounded on Monday by the Israeli military in the central Gaza Strip and the central West Bank, Palestinian sources and eyewitnesses said.
A source at al-Aqsa Hospital's ambulance service in Gaza told Xinhua an Israeli airstrike occurred near Wadi al-Salqa Bridge on al-Baraka street, killing three Palestinians.
Al-Aqsa Hospital later identified the dead as Ali Fayez Asbitan, Hassan Salman al-Hanajra, and eight-year-old Malik Wael Abu Shawish.
Local residents said Israeli warplanes carried out at least one airstrike on the area, and several injuries were reported at the scene.
Earlier, Israeli tanks intensified their shelling of eastern areas of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, coinciding with heavy gunfire in those areas, according to local sources and eyewitnesses.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian teenager was killed by Israeli army fire in the central West Bank city of al-Bireh, according to Ramallah-based Health Ministry.
The ministry said in a statement that 15-year-old Amir Jaber was killed by a bullet to the head and another to the chest fired by Israeli soldiers during a raid on the Umm al-Sharayet neighborhood of al-Bireh.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army regarding these incidents.
