Indonesia sees Chinese tourist arrivals grow 9.38 pct in May

JAKARTA, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia registered a 9.38-percent year-on-year increase in Chinese tourist arrivals in May, reaching 125,460, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) said at a press conference on Wednesday.

The archipelago welcomed a total of 1.38 million international visitors in May, up 5.83 percent from the same month last year.

Malaysia remained the top source of foreign tourists for Indonesia, accounting for 21.58 percent of the total, followed by Australia and Singapore.

From January to May 2026, cumulative international arrivals reached 6.07 million, marking a 7.68-percent growth year-on-year.
