BANGKOK, July 2 (Xinhua) -- A road accident in Mukdahan province in northeastern Thailand killed 8 Buddhist monks and injured 13 others, local media reported on Thursday.

A pickup truck reportedly crashed into a group of about 30 monks on a walking pilgrimage.

Police said the driver was a juvenile who allegedly took a parent's pickup truck without permission.
