Bangladesh remittances surge to record 35.56 bln USD in FY 2025-26

DHAKA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh remittances hit an all-time high of over 35 billion U.S. dollars in the just-concluded fiscal year 2025-26, according to the Bangladesh Bank.

Provisional data released on Wednesday by the central bank showed that remittances surged 17.3 percent to 35,562 million dollars in fiscal 2025-26 from July 2025 to June 2026.

Bangladeshi expatriates sent home 2.81 billion dollars in June alone.

Remittances mainly came from Middle Eastern countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
