The exported produce was shipped to a number of countries, including China, India, Qatar, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Britain, Malaysia, Canada, Turkiye, Iraq, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Germany, as well as several other international markets, according to the department.

Kandahar is one of Afghanistan's leading agricultural provinces and is widely known for producing high-quality fruits, particularly pomegranates, grapes, figs and raisins.

Agriculture remains the backbone of Afghanistan's economy, employing a large share of the country's workforce and serving as a major source of export earnings.
