BEIRUT, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Thursday urged intensified pressure on Israel to halt its military operations in Lebanon and abide by the framework agreement reached in Washington, the official National News Agency (NNA) reported.

During a meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa, the Lebanese president stressed the need to halt Israeli bombardment, demolition, and bulldozing operations in towns and villages occupied by Israeli forces.
His appeal came as Israeli military activities continued across southern Lebanon on Thursday. The NNA reported a series of Israeli demolitions in the border town of Khiam overnight and at dawn.
Israeli drones were also observed flying over Beirut and its suburbs, according to the NNA.
At the meeting, Issa said that the Lebanese, U.S., and Israeli delegations will meet in Rome on July 14 and 15 for technical discussions on travel logistics and the implementation of the framework agreement.
The talks will focus on organizational aspects, including the formation of specialized working groups and the engagement of legal or technical experts, if needed, the ambassador added.
"What will take place in Rome is a continuation of what was agreed upon in Washington," Issa said, adding that follow-up meetings on implementation would be held in the Italian capital or elsewhere.
The U.S. ambassador noted a U.S. military delegation is expected to arrive in Beirut within days to coordinate and determine the mechanism for implementing the framework agreement on the ground.
