KABUL, July 11 (Xinhua) -- At least six passengers have been confirmed dead and eight others injured after their vehicle veered off the road and overturned in eastern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province on Saturday, local authorities announced.

The accident took place in the mountainous Murghi region of the Pachiragam district, killing six people, including four women, according to a statement released by the provincial police office.

All the injured had been transported to a medical facility in the neighboring district for urgent care, the statement added.
