TEHRAN, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Iran has launched a series of strikes against US targets in the Middle East, Press TV reported on Sunday.

Meanwhile, missile alert sirens sounded in Bahrain as the United Arab Emirates and Qatar came under attack, reports said.

The United Arab Emirates' defence ministry said on Sunday that its air defense systems were engaging missile and drone threats.

Bahrain's interior ministry urged citizens and residents to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place.
