The disaster destroyed 13 houses in the locality, while nearly 100 other homes remain at risk of landslides, the report said.

The heavy rains also caused damage to housing, crops, transport infrastructure and power facilities, with total economic losses estimated at more than 120 billion Vietnamese dong (about 4.75 million U.S. dollars), the report added.

Local authorities have deployed rescue teams to search for the missing and assist with recovery efforts.
