VIENTIANE, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Laos' Ministry of Finance convened a meeting to review its performance during the first six months of 2026 and outline key priorities for the remainder of the year.

The meeting, held in the Lao capital Vientiane on Friday, was chaired by Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Santiphab Phomvihane, according to the ministry's report on Saturday.

Participants reviewed reports on the implementation of key tasks across the financial sector. The meeting also received an update on the progress of the ministry's financial sector modernization program.

The meeting assessed the performance of state administration and the work of the ministry's departments during the first half of the year. Discussions highlighted progress in improving administrative management, human resource development, and interdepartmental coordination. Efforts were also made to streamline working mechanisms, enhance transparency, and improve the efficiency of public services.

The meeting further emphasized strengthening the implementation of laws and regulations, improving document management and administrative procedures, and enhancing monitoring to ensure that departmental plans are implemented consistently across the financial sector.
