MOSCOW, July 26 (Xinhua) -- Russian forces carried out overnight strikes on drone manufacturing facilities in Kiev, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

The ministry said in a social media statement that the strikes were conducted with high-precision ground- and air-launched weapons and targeted military-industrial facilities involved in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles.

One of the targets was Smart Intelligent Systems, which is a manufacturer of various types of unmanned aerial vehicles and related components, including airframes, electronic systems, navigation equipment, optical devices and batteries, it said.

Meanwhile, the ministry said Russian forces also struck infrastructure at the port of Chornomorsk in Ukraine's Odessa region, including fuel and lubricants storage facilities that were used to support the Ukrainian armed forces.
