TOKYO, July 28 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.1 rocked Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture on Tuesday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

A tsunami advisory was issued for parts of southwestern Japan.
