MANILA, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- A tropical depression will bring rains to most parts of the country, the Philippine weather bureau forecast, local media reported on Monday.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), a new tropical depression is located 130 km east off the coast of Aurora province on Luzon Island as of 4 a.m. Monday and is almost stationary.
The Philippines experiences frequent typhoons and tropical cyclones annually and is highly vulnerable to natural disasters. PAGASA advised mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels to take precautionary measures while venturing to sea.
