CAIRO, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy on Monday criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for rejecting a 15-point roadmap aimed at completing the implementation of a comprehensive peace plan for Gaza.

In a press statement, Fahmy said the move showed "blatant disregard" for international will and established peace-process frameworks.

Fahmy also condemned Israel's repeated violations of the Gaza ceasefire, calling them blatant breaches of existing commitments and relevant UN resolutions.

He warned that Israel's efforts to create new realities on the ground in Gaza and the occupied West Bank and expand control over Palestinian territory would entrench the occupation and undermine prospects for Palestinian statehood.

He urged U.S. President Donald Trump to press the Israeli government to end its violations.

Netanyahu on Sunday formally rejected the U.S.-backed 15-point plan for ending the Gaza conflict, insisting that Israel will not withdraw its forces from the enclave until Hamas is fully disarmed.
