HANOI, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- A driver was killed after two container trucks collided on the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway in Vietnam's southern city of Dong Nai late Monday night, the Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday.

The accident occurred at 11:15 p.m. when a container truck traveling toward Ho Chi Minh City slammed into another truck ahead in the same direction, the report said, citing the local traffic police.

The impact crushed the front of the striking truck, killing its driver on the spot.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, the report added.
