Prabowo made the remarks on Friday while meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and Defense Minister Dong Jun at his official residence.

Prabowo positively evaluated the role and achievements of the Indonesia-China Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue Mechanism and the 2+2 dialogue mechanism.

He said that China has successfully lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and achieved great accomplishments in the economic, scientific and technological, and military fields, setting a good example for Global South countries to learn from.

Prabowo said China treats Indonesia as an equal with mutual respect, and provides Indonesia with valuable confidence and support.

Indonesia looks forward to deepening all-round strategic cooperation with China in such areas as politics, economy, science and technology, the Indonesian president said, noting that he expects to attend the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Shenzhen in November this year to further enhance strategic communication and collaboration with the Chinese side.

For his part, Wang said that under the president's leadership, Indonesia has overcome various difficulties in recent years and its national construction has entered into a stage of rapid development.

Both the Chinese and Indonesian governments are committed to developing the economy and delivering benefits to their people. No force can stop the continuous rise of developing countries such as China and Indonesia, Wang said.

Noting that China and Indonesia have obvious complementary advantages, Wang said China is a reliable, long-term and stable partner in Indonesia's national development process.

Wang said China has the ability and willingness to deepen cooperation with Indonesia to help Indonesia turn its resources into development momentum, accelerate the pace of industrialization and modernization, and bring more tangible benefits to its people.

The development of human society has proved that openness leads to continuous progress, while isolation only results in backwardness, Wang said.

The more turbulent the world becomes and the more complex and severe external challenges grow, the more China and Indonesia should strengthen solidarity, deepen mutual trust and support, uphold openness and cooperation, safeguard common interests, achieve their respective national development, and set a model of cooperation for Global South countries, Wang noted.

China stands ready to work with Indonesia to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, as well as the outcomes of the first Conference of China-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue Mechanism and the second ministerial meeting of the 2+2 dialogue mechanism, Wang said.

The two sides will comprehensively advance cooperation in areas including politics, economy, energy and mineral resources, military and security, so as to continuously inject fresh impetus into their respective national development and rejuvenation, as well as make positive contributions to regional peace and stability, Wang said.
