The real GDP in Q1 was estimated at 81.36 trillion Indian Rupees (around 855 billion U.S. dollars).

"Indian economy has sustained growth momentum despite global headwinds," said an official statement issued by the ministry.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the growth reflected the collective strength and resilience of the people of India, despite oil price shocks, supply chain disruptions, and global uncertainties.
