JAKARTA, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of 3.70 billion U.S. dollars in the first seven months of 2026, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) said Tuesday.

BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Ateng Hartono said exports from January to July reached 167.03 billion dollars, up 4.43 percent from the same period last year, driven partly by an increase in exports of nickel and its derivatives.

Meanwhile, imports rose 19.94 percent year on year to 163.33 billion dollars, with imports of electrical machinery and equipment increasing 22.38 percent.
