Saudi FM discusses regional developments with Iranian, Pakistani counterparts

RIYADH, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud held separate phone calls with his Iranian and Pakistani counterparts to discuss the latest regional developments, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in separate statements on Sunday.

In a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the two sides reviewed regional developments and efforts being made to maintain security and stability in the region.

In a separate phone call with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed the latest regional developments in light of the ongoing crisis.

They also discussed efforts to contain the crisis and advance peaceful solutions through dialogue and negotiation, with the aim of de-escalating tensions and safeguarding regional security and stability, according to the ministry.
