5.3-magnitude quake hits Timor region: GFZ

BEIJING, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted Timor region at 1844 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 8.71 degrees south latitude and 127.69 degrees east longitude.
