6.1-magnitude quake hits Banda Sea: GFZ

HONG KONG, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted the Banda Sea at 1156 GMT on Friday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 101.0 km, was initially determined to be at 7.46 degrees south latitude and 128.94 degrees east longitude.
