ADB approves 650 mln USD program to support Indonesia's fiscal, digital reforms

JAKARTA, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved 650 million U.S. dollars in financing to support Indonesia's efforts to improve fiscal management, accelerate government digitalization and enhance the quality of public services, the bank said Wednesday.

"The country's strengthened fiscal and digital architecture enables better services for society," said ADB Country Director for Indonesia Bobur Alimov.

The financing is part of the Accelerating Decentralization for Improved Local Governance program, which aims to strengthen coordination between the central and local governments in managing public finances.

The program includes the development of a national digital platform to integrate and report fiscal data, as well as the implementation of more equitable property tax assessments to strengthen local government revenues.

ADB said the program would also help strengthen the fiscal and administrative capacity of local governments and support budgeting that takes into account the protection of women and girls as well as disaster risks
