Romanian President Dan nominates Siegfried Muresan as PM

BUCHAREST, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Romanian President Nicusor Dan nominated liberal European lawmaker Siegfried Muresan as prime minister on Thursday.

After holding consultations with the leaders and representatives of the political parties and formations represented in Parliament, Nicusor Dan announced the nomination of Muresan.

"I accept the proposal made by the President of Romania," Muresan said in a post on Facebook.

Muresan, born on Sept. 20, 1981, is a Romanian economist and politician, He is the vice president of the European People's Party since November 2019, vice president of the European People's Party Group in the European Parliament and a member of the National Liberal Party (PNL).
