5.0-magnitude quake hits northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge: GFZ

BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge at 1919 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 30.21 degrees north latitude and 42.13 degrees west longitude.
