Suicide bomber strikes police complex, killing 16 in Pakistan

A suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a police complex in Kohat, northwestern Pakistan, on Friday, killing at least 16 and injuring over 50, according to media reports citing police officials.

The dead included five police personnel and 11 civilians. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Security forces cordoned off the area following the blast. Rescue teams continued operations at the site.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack.
