All glacier regions lose ice in 2025: WMO

The year 2025 marked the fourth consecutive year with widespread glacier loss across all regions, according to a new report released by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on Thursday.

Between 2023 and 2025, glaciers lost a cumulative 1,400 gigatons of mass, equivalent to roughly a third of global annual freshwater withdrawals.
