6.1-magnitude quake hits Papua New Guinea Region

HONG KONG, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted Papua New Guinea Region at 0917 GMT on Sunday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 114.2 km, was initially determined to be at 5.85 degrees south latitude and 146.02 degrees east longitude.
