Reception held in Pakistan to mark China's National Day, Mid-Autumn Festival

Islamabad (People's Daily) – China-Pakistan friendship was on full display during a reception held on Tuesday celebrating the upcoming 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The gathering in Islamabad brought together Chinese and Pakistani officials, representatives of the Pakistan Overseas Chinese Association, the China Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan, Chinese-funded enterprises, media organizations, Chinese students and other members of the Chinese community in Pakistan.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong attended the reception and delivered remarks, extending festive greetings to Chinese people in Pakistan and expressing appreciation for their contributions to China-Pakistan friendship.

Jiang said China had made significant achievements in economic and social development over the past 77 years and would continue to pursue high-quality development and share the fruits of Chinese modernization with the world. He said China would deliver greater benefits to Pakistan and work with Pakistan to build an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.

He also highlighted the contributions of overseas Chinese, Chinese-funded enterprises, media professionals and students, saying they have played important roles in promoting practical cooperation, people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding between China and Pakistan.

Representatives of overseas Chinese communities and the Chinese business sector highlighted their contributions to China-Pakistan exchanges and practical cooperation. They also noted Chinese companies' participation in Belt and Road cooperation and the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, including in energy, infrastructure, the digital economy and green development, as well as community assistance and social responsibility initiatives.

The reception also featured cultural performances, including a traditional Chinese guzheng performance, songs and classical dance, creating a festive atmosphere for the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations.
