5.0-magnitude quake hits 140 km NNE of Ba, Fiji

BEIJING, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted 140 km NNE of Ba, Fiji at 1746 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 16.31 degrees south latitude and 178.02 degrees east longitude.
