Thailand's Puripol Boonson breaks men's 200m Asian Games record in the semifinals

NAGOYA, Japan, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's Puripol Boonson broke the Asian Games record in 20.10 seconds in the men's 200 meters semifinals at the 2026 Asian Games here on Saturday.

The 20-year-old is chasing a sprint double after winning Friday's 100m final in a Games-record 9.90 seconds. The previous mark of 20.14 was set by Qatar's Femi Ogunode at the 2014 Incheon Games.
