DPRK accuses ROK of 'provocation' over border mine blast

Kim Yo Jong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, accused the Republic of Korea (ROK) of "another provocation" against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) over a recent mine explosion near the border, state media reported Wednesday.

In a press statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency, Kim said the ROK was trying to shift blame for the landmine blast and fabricate "material evidence" to support its claim, calling the moves "absurd."

The DPRK official warned that the ROK should take responsibility for its provocations.

Three ROK soldiers from the army's 25th division were injured during a mission inside the ROK side of the demilitarized zone, Yonhap News Agency reported on Sept. 21, citing sources from the ROK military.

ROK President Lee Jae Myung on Tuesday ordered a thorough probe into the landmine blast, saying the country will take necessary measures depending on the outcome of the investigation.
