Philippine officials deny high school shooting

Local officials denied that a shooting incident occurred at a high school in Sultan Kudarat province, Mindanao, southern Philippines, on Wednesday morning, saying the loud noise was likely due to faulty electrical wiring.

According to Datu Pax Ali S. Mangudadatu, governor of the province, the reported loud sound at the Isulan National High School was not caused by a firearm, and no ammunition was found in the area during the investigation. No casualties or injuries were reported.

Classes in all schools in Isulan Municipality have been suspended starting Wednesday afternoon.
