Al-Amoudi is considered a successor to Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was killed by the Israeli military in October 2024.
Kan cited an Israeli official as assessing that al-Amoudi did not survive the strike as he was inside the targeted apartment.
Israel's Channel 12 News reported that, among other responsibilities, al-Amoudi is tasked with overseeing the transfer of Hamas' civilian governing apparatus to the Palestinian technocratic committee responsible for administering the Gaza Strip under the Board of Peace.
